Fresh Breath / Gum Treatment
A common concern from patients is bad breath. This arises mainly as a result of specific types of bacteria that produce the offending smell. These usually reside in areas of the mouth that aren't cleaned as well as they should be. Certain types of foods and smoking can make the problem worse, as can not brushing/flossing properly.

Bad breath can also be a sign of gum disease. An appointment with a dentist will allow an appropriate diagnosis and treatment with a dentist will allow an appropriate diagnosis and treatment plan. If appropriate, you may be reffered to a hygienist , or the dentist may do the treatment themselves.

Dont worry if your teeth are sensitive, or your gums sore, treatment is commonly performed with local anaesthetic in order to make it comfortable for you and allow to perform the treatment more effectively.
At these sessions we will aslo advise you of how to manage the disease, and best prevent recurrance with effective flossing and brushing techniques.

Teeth whiting - Free consultation!! prices from £235
This is a relativly simple and common treatment. There are two main ways to whiten your natural teeth.

1) Home whitening
Special tight fitting mouth trays are made from plaster moulds of your teeth. You wear these for an hour a day after placing a special whitening gel in them. You will probably need to do this for between 5 and 10 days.

The advantage of this method is that it is normally cheaper, the whitening is gradual, and there can be less immediate sensitivity.

2) In-office whitening
We use the latest zoom advanced power whitening system this allows us to be able to whiten your teeth by up to 8 shades in about 45 minutes to an hour.

A combination of the above two methods may be advised in some cases. It is important that a through examination is conducted prior to any whitening procedure to see if you are suitable, any fillings, crowns or veneers that you have will not whiten.

Canal treatment (root)
One of the major causes of dental pain is an infected nerve this can happen due to a variety of reasons, including deep decay, injury and fillings close to the nerve. The pain can be quite unbearable, severe and leads to loss of sleep.

Root canal treatment involves numbing the tooth, and cleaning out the infected nerve. If the infection is particularly severe, the dressing may be placed to help to help calm the situation pain relief is usually immediate.

The dentist, if deemed appropriate, may progress to the next stage of the treatment at the same appointment. Using an apex locator to help determine the ideal end point of the root, fine nickel titanium files are used to help shape and clean the root canals. Special irrigants are used to help remove debris, and disinfect in the root canals.

Once the canals are shaped and disinfected, they are filled using gutta percha and a sealant. A filling is placed on top. The whole procedure is carried out using a rubber dam to help isolate the tooth, and improve comfort for you.

Pain during the procedure is very uncommon in most instances after the treatment there is no pain , discomfort is possible but responds to nurofen and eases completely within a day or so.

Implants
A dental implant can be the permanent solution to replace a missing tooth. They are made of titanium, and are placed in the jaws. By and our oral surgeon, usually we recommended a period of a few months to allow them to be accepted by the bone completely. Then a crown may be placed on them. In some instances multiple implants may be placed to help keep dentures stable, or to replace multiple missing teeth.more...
